Wow, this one takes an ominous turn! We’re lulled into a sense of security by the bright-eyed cat and the sweet almond tree, and then we’re hit hard by that last line! Excellently constructed, Rachael.
Thank you. It brings back memories of a beautiful grey cat I once had who had some rather nasty habits, bless him!
