Thank you! The bud looked like a snoozing mouse cradled in a hairy blanket…
I always learn something new from you! (I had to look up papaver. 😛 ) And I do see the snoozing mouse in the picture! Maybe the poppy is the plant version of the “ugly duckling” transforming into a beautiful swan? Hugs and love, my friend.
Ah, you read my mind! They are strange looking buds though, and it’s always a lovely surprise when they open. I love these giant poppies. xx

I like the idea that something ordinary like a bud opening can be thought of as magical. It reminds me that maybe its all just a question of perception…and that’s so exciting! xx
