TO ALL MY FOLLOWERS : Because of the way my blog was set up, I don’t get notifications of new followers. I’ve tried, but I can’t change the settings, so I’m missing out on exploring some amazing writing. I want to say hello to everyone as they hop onto my blog; I am honoured.

If anyone has any ideas how to sort this, do let me know 🙂

    Rachael, it’s absolutely WONDERFUL !!!
(Not a litteral translation of seagul (“mouette”) because “oiseau de mer”, sea bird, sounds better than “mouette” in French.
    I LOVE your poem
    Have a beautiful and maritime week-end 🙂

    • Rachael Charmley says:

Thank you, Frederic. What a beautiful translation, mon ami. Sounding so poetic en Francais. ‘Oiseau de mer’ rolls around the tongue perfectly!

  • Dan Antion says:

I think you can adjust the “Discussion” settings in the WP Dashboard under Blog Settings.

    • Rachael Charmley says:

Thanks, Dan. I tried that to no avail. The problem seems to be that my husband set the blog up for me – so he is notified of new followers – but he cannot pass that privilege onto me!

  • Meanderer says:

Do you mean you don’t get email notifications?

    • Rachael Charmley says:

Yes, I do mean that, even though i have ticked the relevant box to receive them in the ‘Settings’ thingy!

  • Miranda Stone says:

I can see that you drew much inspiration from the ocean, Rachael! I love this one. I imagine the beacon of a lighthouse, a fixed presence in tune with other sea life. I wish I had a suggestion for how to fix your settings, but WP seems to have a mind of its own about these things.

    • Rachael Charmley says:

My heart always goes to the sea or the mountains when life gets tough – like many people I suppose. But I have fixed the WP problem. After an hour of teeth gnashing and drip feeding him chocolate, J has removed himself from my site as the main administrator – problem solved with Cadbury’s Fruit & Nut !! xx

  • i am now following your exquisite blog. interesting poetry so far. i’ll work my way backwards toward your genesis…always exciting to take in all one has written- i highly recommend doing it for every blog you follow. That is, if you have the time. (intermission until tomorrow…resuming then)

    • Rachael Charmley says:

Thanks for the follow, and I always say I will explore back in time on those followed blogs – and to my loss – I rarely do 😦
Hope you enjoy reading my short stories – you’ll probably think you’ve hit someone else’s blog!
