Determination I guess. Beautiful.
A lovely way of looking at it, Dan. I so like how haiku can be interpreted in such diverse ways. For me, it was how can something – not in the least beautiful, and rather unfriendly with its mass of thorns – produce something so soft, fragrant and lovely ?

They are one of my favourite flowers….and for me they must be scented 🙂
I so agree. The old fashioned varieties with a gentle vagrance and muted colours…:-)
