ah! it is the purest Rachael’s style… I am a fan! wonderful photo: water lens (“duckweeds”?, I wonder what the right word, in French we call them “lentilles d’eau”, water lens) have something magical, maybe because they hide a mirrorlike surface, I don’t know, but I love both their color and “poetry” – sure they sometimes regarded as a “green pest”…
I don’t know what they’re called either, Frederic, but they’re everywhere on the slow deep parts of the river. Creatures seem to like hiding in them, and dragonflies were whizzing about close by yesterday. They will disappear when the winter rains come…
Beautiful words and photo. I love nature photos that show do many shades of green. Your words describe a “good” nap so well.
Thanks for your appreciative comments, Dan. Yes – naps aren’t always ‘good’ are they? At least not in our house!
Beautiful Rachael….I feel like I awoke from the dreamy nap as well! ❤
Ha! Lovely comment, Lorrie, and much, much appreciated. Have a nice Sunday ❤
Ah, missed opportunities. But some days are just made for a nap. 🙂
How often do we dream of what might have been? You’ve got me feeling nostalgic now! Well written, Rachael.
I hope the nostalgia didn’t stick around. It’s okay in tiny doses!
