Great image of someone living on through their unwritten (or unspoken) words, Rachael.
Thank you, Chris. I knew what I wanted to express but couldn’t find the physical thing to do it with. Nothing worked – then the pen appeared… 🙂
Amazing and unique! “Long last pen”- this is very profound. 🙂
Thank you. I like the idea of using a physical ‘thing’ as a medium for expression-almost like an invocation- without giving it a character, if that makes sense 🙂
My pleasure. I liked your idea a lot. Stay Wonderful! 🙂
I was about to type ‘profound’ then saw another had said that – as an alternative I will comment, ‘magic’.
I like magic! Thanks, maestro 🙂
The juxtaposition of the two images (lost pen/deceased husband) is very powerful. Especially striking is the implied comparison of the husband’s words “leaking out” with his own life having leaked out. The jux is subtle (as it should be) and allows the readers to be an active part of the poetic process, increasing their enjoyment. Very nicely done, Rachael!
Just the comment I needed, Ron. Our dear friend Mr. Gurga seems to be getting me out of the impasse. Have a fine weekend !
Rachael…this is so powerful!! Wow…so few words said so much. Bravo…this is one of my favorites!!! ❤
Ahhh. So glad you’re here Lorrie, and so happy to bring you pleasure ❤
long lost pen… three words, and a whole story… very powerful as Lorrie said… have a nice week-end dear Rachael ♥
Thank you, Frederic. The poem was somehow about my parents who have both now passed – so some sadness too. Enjoy your beautiful autumn city this weekend. x
Oh, I’m sorry, sadness, yes, it is a very sad poem – but there’s beauty in sadness, and sadness in beauty… xxoo
Another poem that could very well lend itself to a story. I love how you leave many questions unanswered here, Rachael, allowing the reader to interpret this and fill in the story line on his own.
Ha! There is some pleasure to be had from passing on most of the work to my readers!! Thank you my friend, and may you have a good weekend.
