Wonderful capture !
Not mine, I’m afraid; but it is lovely.
Even the shape of this poem is graceful! I wish it were not a poet’s long sleep… have a nice day Rachael 🙂
Thank you, Frederic. For many winters now I have been cultivating the practice of semi hibernation. Deeper sleeps, more attention to night and day dreams, and meeting a need to divert attention from what is outside myself to the inside. It’s a kind of gathering and dispersal at the same time, and perhaps only possible if one lives in the countryside… xx
I like the ‘tree-like’ structure of your poem, Rachael. And, oh, to be a mouse!!
So pleased you got the ‘tree’, Chris. Indeed, to be a mouse. I work on cultivating my mouse-like tendencies – at least the slow and snoozeful ones!
long sleep of mouse. I love that. The tree is amazing.
Thank you ❤ I really do need to spend more time taking photos of large trees in generous and open spaces…
Loved it, the photo and the poem as always.
So good to have you back, you are always missed, here anyway 🙂
Thank you, Neo. I needed to stand back awhile to see where I need to go next – hence the break. It’s so good to be back. xx
I understand, Rachael. I’m merely trying to make the end of the year. It’s been a hard one. Hang in there, love your work, hard to comment on though 🙂
As you say, it’s been a hard year for many people at so many levels, but I really appreciate your kind thoughts, Neo. x
Indeed it has, dear lady, not least for you, and you are often in my thoughts.
Likewise, dear friend.x
Thank you, dear friend x
Ah, yes, it is that time of year again! Fantastic poem, Rachael. And I like the shape of it as well–it looks like an hourglass. I think fall, more than any other season, reminds me of how transient life really is. Yours are words to ponder this morning, my friend. 🙂
Thank you, Miranda. Definitely a haiku with no answers attached! Have a good week 🙂
