The structure of this implies falling, both literally and figuratively. Read slowly and out loud I actually felt my body slide into itself. Weird – but in a good way!!
So pleased that worked for you, Chris. I was trying to create a sense of falling, of sinking, of freeing via the snow as metaphor. Thank you for your comments, they are much appreciated and always encourage me.
Oh, wow, as much as I hate to think of winter, I love the way your poem describes it, Rachael! (And of course, the reference to the monkey mind is wonderful. Truly Zen!)
Haa! I did wonder if it was rather premature to bring the snow out so early, but I liked the haiku/koan so…
The snow shouldn’t come for months yet. Should it? 🙂
Teehee! I got the idea from you, remember…
I so enjoy playing with the structure in this way. Mind you, I can aspire to, but will never possess your visual talent…
Have a good evening, dear friend ❤
Indeed! What a contrast to the noise created by rain – not the pitter patter, but the sound of cars’ tyres rushing through the wet on the road outside just now!

The phrasing and the sparse eloquence here make it akin to a koan.

You’re a master of one-word lines… and description of interconnections between Nature & Soul. Great work, as ever… ♥

Thank you, Chloe. There is nothing like the peace that fresh snow brings… xxx
Eloquent, graceful and beautiful 🙂 Is it snowing in your neck of the woods?

Thanks, John, and no it isn’t snowing. I think I’m willing it to as the next post is about snow too 🙂

So true. And what an effect these sounds, or absence of, have on our moods!
