I like the menace (or is it promise?) behind this, Rachael. The image of this is beginning to haunt me!
Interesting, Chris. My intention with this haiku was to express loss of innocence via its symbolism – and after writing it I saw some of the possible meanings. There are quite a few! It reminds me of the simple yet immense power of these tiny poems… 🙂

I can certainly see where you are coming from. For me the two somewhat contrasting images just work so well against one another. You are right too, when written well these poems can be incredibly powerful. All the best for your week too.
