This is lovely. My friend Rachael is currently writing a series of haiku and I think they are beautiful and perfectly worded, so please go and check them all out.

  • Beautiful, I have re-blogged 🙂

    • Rachael Charmley says:

Thank you. I’m afraid I’ve just changed the text and the photo though… couldn’t get it right! x

  • beautiful prose, to a very beautiful picture – have a great day!

  • Stunning photo….and as always I love the haiku

  • Rachael Charmley says:

Thank you. It took ages to find just the right leopard!

  • Miranda Stone says:

What a fantastically unexpected turn this haiku takes! I’ve ridden in a hot air balloon a couple of times, and the animals on the ground do seem perplexed, especially when they hear that loud whoosh from the burner system. Dogs bark at the balloon; deer grazing in fields run away as it approaches. Another excellently written haiku, Rachael!

    • Rachael Charmley says:

Yes, it seems to be the burner that frightens them. There’s a law in this country now which stipulates the pilot mustn’t burn close to farm animals or their buildings. My ex used to be a balloon pilot and worked in the Serengeti for a while, Stampeding herds of wildebeest must be quite a site… I think snow leopards have to take their chances.
So pleased you liked it. They just keep on coming! Have a restful and fruitful weekend. 🙂
